The one who was looking for plane tickets rather than a job

I just got back.

I spent a month in Montreal for a work contract, I closed a door, crossed an ocean, returned to France, and here I am officially looking for a job again.

Logically, I should be focused.

I need to update my CV and respond to job postings.
In short, to continue building my new life.

And yet…

For the past few days, I've found myself looking at plane tickets.

I'm looking at prices for Japan.
Then on to Costa Rica.
Because after all, if I'm already dreaming, I might as well go around the world.

I'm comparing stopovers, airlines... when I don't even know where I'll be working in three months.

And I wondered if there was something wrong with me.

Why is it that I've barely returned home, and I already want to leave again?

For a long time, I would have called it running away.

But I believe that in reality, it's something else.

When you come out of a great adventure, a strange emptiness sets in. For months, everything was clear: a goal, a city, a rhythm, a direction.

And then, overnight, nothing.

The calendar is empty.

The days need to be rebuilt.
And that little voice in my head starts asking:
«"Okay... and now what?"»

So instead of filling this void with certainties, I fill it with destinations.

Because a journey is not just an escape.

It's a promise that there's still something to experience.

I believe we all need a horizon.

Some people sign up for a marathon.
Others are renovating their homes.
Well, I'm looking at plane tickets.

Because deep down, maybe this isn't the trip I'm looking for.

That's the plan.

That little light in the distance that tells you there's still something waiting for you.

I believe we underestimate the power of a project. It doesn't matter if it's big or small. It forces us to look ahead rather than behind.

And ultimately, it may not be so incompatible with a job search.

Because looking for work also means believing that somewhere there is a life that suits us a little better.

The difference is that an airline ticket can be bought in three clicks.

Confidence in the future, however, sometimes requires a little more time.

I found a round trip to Tokyo at a really good price.
