I tried kinesiology: how my body spoke to me

If you're new to kinesiology, let me tell you: it's a bit like speaking the secret language of your body. Yes, your body has things to say... and sometimes, we don't listen enough. I decided to try a session to see what was behind my current blockages (especially the emotional blockages since my parents' death).

Before describing my session to you, let's go back to the basics of what it is already as a practice.

What is kinesiology?

Kinesiology is a gentle approach that combines listening to the body, muscle testing and emotional release techniques to better understand what is blocking us in our daily lives.

The main idea? The body always knows what's good or bad for us. Even when our head is too busy to realize it.

In concrete terms, the kinesiologist will not prescribe medication or give you miracle cures. He uses your body as a tension and emotion detector: through muscle testing, gentle movements, breathing, and visualization, he identifies the physical and emotional blockages that are holding you back.

How does a session take place?

I arrived at the office a little curious (and a bit skeptical even though I'm quite open to this type of practice in general), ready to discover what my body had to tell me.

The session began with a simple but essential step: formulating what I was looking for and what I wanted to release. With the kinesiologist, we put words to what I wanted. “unlock”. As I said, in my case, learning to tame and release blocked emotions and tensions. A bit like a bag that we carry without realizing it.

Then we moved on to muscle testing. And there I discovered that my body could “"answer"” to what she was asked. Every muscle tested seemed to indicate something: where it resisted, where it weakened, as if my body was showing me where these blockages were. It was fascinating to see the connection between what I said, the questions she specifically targeted, and my body's physical reaction.

After each test, we discussed it together. The kinesiologist explained to me what it could mean: certain tensions corresponded to emotions or habits that were trying to express themselves. It was a gentle and very intuitive way of understanding what my body was telling me, without judgment, just listening.

Finally, the session ended with an energy treatment. They can be different depending on each person, as she explained to me. For some, it will be an energy treatment without touching. For others, an energy massage or even pressure points. At the end of the treatments she applied to me, the energy circulated and the tensions seemed to release. I felt a relaxation as if I had just come out of a meditation that had carried me away or a relaxing session at the spa. It was like a “"cleaning"” soft which allowed you to leave feeling lighter and more in tune with yourself.

Coming out of that session was a bit like feeling my body breathe again. No dramatic revelations, no instant miracles. Just that simple, pleasant feeling that some weight had been lifted, and I could continue my day with a little more clarity and lightness.

While having asked questions or put our finger on events, schemes, patterns to dig into, which we had not put our finger on until then, that these latter, even distant, could impact our life still today. We therefore come out with avenues to explore if we wish.

Why try kinesiology?

If you are curious or want to:

  • Better manage your stress
  • Reconnect with your body and your emotions
  • Discover where certain blockages or behaviors come from
  • Experiment with a method for your personal development

…then kinesiology is a great option. It can complement traditional treatment or simply help you take care of yourself in a unique and intuitive way.

For me, kinesiology is a bit like that: listening to your body, identifying what's stuck, and gently releasing it, step by step. A surprising, gentle, and surprisingly revealing experience, which made me realize that our body always knows where our tensions are hidden... and how to free ourselves from them.

Trying kinesiology is a bit like opening a window onto your inner world, a world you often overlook. It's surprising and often revealing. Your body speaks to you; you just have to listen.

And believe me, it costs you nothing to try except to feel a deep sense of relaxation when you come out 😉
