The one who wants to do sports... and ends up doing nothing

You wake up this morning with an ambition worthy of a movie heroine.
You know, that kind of waking up where you say to yourself: “Today is the big day. I'm finally going to get started.”
You're already visualizing your perfect program: a little cardio to wake up your heart, some strength training to tone your body, some stretching to gain flexibility... And, let's be crazy, a little yoga at the end, just to make you feel aligned and zen.

You can already see yourself sweating, short of breath, but with a smile plastered on your face, as proud as if you'd just won an Olympic medal. You can imagine the wave of dopamine that will wash over you, the intense satisfaction of having surpassed yourself.

So you take action: you put on your workout clothes, you take out your brand new sneakers, and you roll out your gym mat.
There it is, in front of you, this carpet, like a silent invitation.
You take a deep breath, ready to launch yourself...

…and you sit down. Not on it, no. On the couch.
“Just time for a glass of water.”

And then, your gaze wanders out the window. The sun is shining, the sky is a brilliant blue... and your clever brain comes whispering:
“In the end, a little walk after lunch will more than make up for it. It counts, right?”

And there you have it. Your sneakers stay spotless, your mat stays still. Meanwhile, you scroll on your phone, read a couple of articles, watch a quick episode... and conclude:
“Well… tomorrow I'll start. Tomorrow, for sure.”

Ah, tomorrow. That magic word, that reassuring promise that we pull out like a joker.
You smile because you know damn well you've just pushed it back again. But it's not really a failure. No.
The motivation was there, vibrant, real. It's just that sometimes, moving from intention to action takes more than your body or mind has to give that day.

And you know what? It's normal.
We can't always be at our best, always disciplined, always efficient.
Sometimes, listening to your fatigue, respecting your rhythm, is already another form of discipline.

So you stay there, quiet, a little amused by yourself, aware that tomorrow might be different.
Tomorrow, you might put on your sneakers again... and this time, you'll set foot on that rug.

But today, you accept this break.
Because wanting to move is already a first step.
And that sometimes, the real effort is to allow yourself to do nothing... before starting again tomorrow.
