Some people therefore prefer to take the car and head to Oka beach, an hour&#039;s drive away, to cool off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:19px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_45960_inner_2\">The other possibility of course remains the escapades outside the city to the lakes where you can swim and why not enhance it all with a weekend in a chalet, a basic activity for Quebecers here in summer and winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_45960_inner_3\">In fact, a good part of the population has&nbsp;<strong>a chalet<\/strong>&nbsp;outside the city where they will recharge their batteries for a weekend, the end of year celebrations, or even a vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:27px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_45960_inner_4\">Montreal in summer is also synonymous with&nbsp;<strong>festivals and cultural activities of all kinds<\/strong>, to name a few, here is a non-exhaustive list of these expected summer events:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"wnd_TextBlock_45960_inner_5\"><li>PikNic Electronics<\/li><li>Osheaga<\/li><li>Francofolies<\/li><li>Jazz Festival<\/li><li>Just for Laughs Festival<\/li><li>MTL Pride<\/li><li>Mural Festival etc.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/a-girl-next-door.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/fest-mural.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-841\" width=\"280\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/a-girl-next-door.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/fest-mural.jpg 450w, https:\/\/a-girl-next-door.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/fest-mural-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_58854_inner_0\">It&#039;s quite simple, every evening during the summer you have the choice between so many different activities that you don&#039;t know where to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_58854_inner_1\">Not to mention the city&#039;s many green spaces, with&nbsp;<strong>its large parks<\/strong>&nbsp;which welcome, as soon as temperatures allow, until the end of autumn, groups of friends happy to meet up for a picnic, aperitif, games of all kinds (molky, p\u00e9tanque, spike ball etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_58854_inner_2\">Barbecues are allowed in parks so be prepared to smell the smells in the streets wherever you go for 3 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:28px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_58854_inner_3\">I&#039;m not talking about the&nbsp;<strong>markets<\/strong>&nbsp;where it is good to stroll between the stalls and stock up on seasonal fruits and vegetables of all kinds. The best known: the Jean Talon market and the Atwater market (personally, I really prefer the first one)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:17px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_58854_inner_4\">A few&nbsp;<strong>pop-up stations<\/strong>&nbsp;open only in summer as well, for example,&nbsp;<em>The Village at the Foot of the Stream&nbsp;<\/em>near the Jacques Cartier Bridge. An ideal spot to come and see the&nbsp;<strong>fireworks<\/strong>&nbsp;Loto Qu\u00e9bec launches every Wednesday and Saturday during the summer. Each fireworks display has a country theme.
