Well, actually there is... we&#039;ve found some rather shaky alternatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like those Facebook groups for &quot;friendly meetups,&quot; where you end up reading posts like: <em>\u201cHi, I\u2019m new to the city and looking for girlfriends for brunch and hikes.\u201d <\/em><em>\ud83c\udf38<\/em><em>\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then you realize that you are... <em>\u201cmatcher\u201d<\/em> socially with strangers on the Internet, but to go for a coffee in broad daylight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are also paid organized outings. Like <em>\u201cBowling night + tapas + new friends\u201d.<\/em> It&#039;s a bit like speed dating, but the responsible adult version where you just don&#039;t want to end up alone at home on a Saturday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And you arrive there wondering:<br><em>\u201cOkay\u2026 am I going to make a real friend or just spend 2 hours talking about the weather with someone very polite?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because everything is very structured, very nice, very <em>\u201cWe are here to meet people.\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But behind it all, there&#039;s exactly the same tension as on a date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Will it be a match?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting itself already resembles a dating experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You present a fairly natural version of yourself\u2026 but still a little improved.
