We accept, we commit, often without even thinking about it, while in our heads, it is a <em>&quot; No &quot;<\/em> crying out for truth. This <em>&quot; Yes &quot;<\/em> that falls, when in reality, we would have preferred to stay quiet and do what we want, in our corner. It&#039;s this feeling of saying yes to a project, a request, or an outing, when our whole body tells us that we prefer to say no, but we can&#039;t find the courage to do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, of course, you end up agreeing to go out with your friends even though you have a mountain of work ahead of you. You agree to help out at work even though you know it&#039;s going to take you three hours longer than expected. And then you wonder why you got yourself into it...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You know, the worst part is that you do it with all your heart, because you&#039;re there for others. You feel like you&#039;re doing a service, like you&#039;re the person everyone can count on. And frankly, it feels good, doesn&#039;t it? To be useful, to be indispensable. But one day, you realize that you said <em>&quot; Yes &quot; <\/em>so many times you forgot to say<em> &quot; No &quot;<\/em> to yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#039;s funny, huh, how to say <em>&quot; No &quot;<\/em> can be that difficult? Yet, it&#039;s a very simple word, made up of two small letters. But, as soon as you say it, you feel like you&#039;re going to be a pain, that you&#039;re going to lose your status as <em>\u201cgood friend\u201d, \u201cgreat colleague\u201d <\/em>Or <em>&quot;no one always available&quot;<\/em>. Yet, when you think about it, saying <em>&quot; No &quot;,<\/em> It&#039;s also a way of respecting yourself. It&#039;s putting your needs first, without feeling guilty about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is when you realize that learning to say <em>&quot; No &quot;<\/em> is not an act of malice. It is not because you say <em>&quot; No &quot;<\/em> That you&#039;re being selfish. On the contrary, it&#039;s an act of self-love. By refusing something, you allow yourself to honor your time and your needs. It&#039;s like setting healthy boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This no is a small revolution. Because saying it doesn&#039;t mean being mean or selfish. It just means you&#039;re listening to yourself and realizing that your well-being is as important as everyone else&#039;s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, if you too are part of this tribe of those who say <em>&quot; Yes &quot;<\/em> all the time, but who think <em>&quot; No &quot;<\/em>, know this: the world is not going to fall apart if you learn to set your boundaries. In fact, there&#039;s a good chance that others will respect you even more. And honestly, the next time you find yourself saying <em>&quot; Yes &quot;<\/em> To save face, take a moment and ask yourself: will this really improve my day? Is this what I want? And if the answer is no, then... say so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because in the end, every <em>&quot; No &quot; <\/em>that you allow yourself is a small victory. It&#039;s a victory against guilt, against that little voice that tells you that you don&#039;t have the right to say no.
